eSIM Thailand 30 Days: Fixed-Data and Unlimited Plans Explained

· 8 min read · LimitSİM Team

If you typed "eSIM Thailand 30 days" into a search bar, you probably want two things: enough mobile data for a whole month, and no surprises in week three. This guide covers the plans, what "unlimited" means under fair use, which plan suits which trip, and top-ups.

A 30-day plan also matches the visa-free stay many visitors now get: since 15 September 2026, tourists from India, most of Europe and other countries on Thailand's list can stay up to 30 days without a visa, down from 60. Rules differ by passport and can change, so check the official Thai embassy website before you travel.

LimitSim's Thailand plans connect to AIS, dtac or TrueMove H, depending on the plan; the networks for each plan are listed on the plans page. dtac and TrueMove H are brands of True Corporation, and AIS is Thailand's other big operator. Every plan is data-only (no Thai number, calls or SMS), and your own SIM and number keep working. Keep data roaming switched off on your home SIM so that only the eSIM uses data.

You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Prices are in euros, and your bank converts them at its own rate: as a rough guide, €10 was about £8.47 or A$16.10 at the ECB reference rate on 5 October 2026.

Unlimited plans are left out because fair-usage rules differ between sellers, so their prices do not compare like for like. Other 30-day sizes have no exact match.

What does unlimited data mean on a Thailand eSIM?

It means a large allowance at stepped speeds, not unlimited data at full speed. Unlimited plans come with a fair-usage policy: speed is reduced in steps as you use data, and each plan has a maximum for its validity period (details on each plan).

  • Unlimited / 7 days: full speed for the first 500 MB, then up to 5 Mbps; up to 512 kbps after 25 GB; maximum 30 GB in the validity period.
  • Unlimited / 15 days: the same steps, with 512 kbps after 40 GB and a maximum of 45 GB.
  • Unlimited / 30 days: the same steps, with 512 kbps after 65 GB and a maximum of 70 GB.

So on the 30-day plan, only the first 500 MB run at full speed. After that you are capped at 5 Mbps, then at 512 kbps from 65 GB, up to 70 GB in total. For maps, messaging and browsing, 5 Mbps is usually enough; at 512 kbps, messages still go through, but video and large uploads become slow.

Heavy users should also compare the large fixed-data plans: 30 GB / 30 days costs €27.42, against €28.08 for 30-day unlimited, so the choice is between a set amount of data and a bigger allowance at stepped speeds.

Which eSIM plan should a tourist in Thailand choose?

Pick a validity that covers your whole trip, then the amount of data that fits how you use your phone. Maps, messaging and browsing use relatively little; streaming, video calls and uploading lots of photos use much more.

  • A week or less: 1 GB / 7 days (€1.25) for light use, or Unlimited / 7 days (€12.70) if you are online all day.
  • Two weeks: 3 GB / 15 days (€3.04) for light use, or Unlimited / 15 days (€20.06).
  • A month: 10 GB or 20 GB / 30 days for everyday use; 30 GB or Unlimited / 30 days for heavy use. The plan details show when the 30 days start.
  • Several countries: regional plans cover Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand or five countries including Vietnam and Indonesia.

Can you top up a Thailand eSIM?

Yes. Most LimitSim Thailand plans can be topped up in the LimitSim app or on the website when you are signed in; the exception is the 50 GB / 10 days plan, which cannot be topped up.

A top-up helps if you run low on data before your plan ends. If your trip may run past 30 days, check the validity before you buy: the 50 GB / 180 days plan (€57.22) is the only Thailand plan valid for longer. On the visa side, a visa-free stay can be extended once, by up to 30 days, at an immigration office in Thailand (rules as of October 2026).

Buying and installing your eSIM

Buy the eSIM online, ideally before your trip, and install it once, on the phone you will travel with. After payment, it arrives by email and in your account and app as a QR code plus manual codes. Do not delete it afterwards, because some eSIMs cannot be installed a second time. Already in Thailand? You can still buy online and install over Wi-Fi.

Our setup guide for iPhone and Android walks through each step, and the complete Thailand eSIM guide explains coverage, entry rules and local SIM cards.

FAQ

Is there an eSIM for Thailand that lasts 30 days?

Yes. LimitSim has six fixed-data 30-day Thailand plans, from 3 GB (€3.22) to 30 GB (€27.42), plus a 30-day unlimited plan with fair use (€28.08), at prices checked on 6 October 2026. Current prices are on the Thailand plans page.

Do the unlimited plans slow down?

Yes. Unlimited plans come with a fair-usage policy: full speed for the first 500 MB, then up to 5 Mbps, then up to 512 kbps after 25, 40 or 65 GB on the 7, 15 or 30-day plan. The maximum use is 30, 45 or 70 GB, and the details are listed on each plan.

Do the Thailand plans include a phone number?

No. All LimitSim Thailand plans are data-only, with no Thai number, calls or SMS. Your own SIM and number keep working, and WhatsApp, FaceTime and other app calls work over data.

Is a 15-day plan enough for two weeks in Thailand?

Yes, as long as the 15 days cover your whole stay; the plan details show when they start. For light use, mainly maps and messaging, the 3 GB / 15 days plan (€3.04) can be enough. For heavier use, choose Unlimited / 15 days (€20.06) or a 30-day plan such as 10 GB (€8.40), which leaves days to spare.

Can I get a Thailand eSIM for 6 months?

Yes. For long stays there is a 50 GB plan valid for 180 days (€57.22 on 6 October 2026). Since 15 September 2026, many nationalities can stay visa-free for up to 30 days, so check the rules for a longer stay on the official Thai embassy website before you travel.
